Collection consists primarily of correspondence, 1902-1906, between James Hurd Davis, an employee of the Norfolk and Western Railway Company in Roanoke, Va., and his fiance and wife, Annie Hairston (Woods) Davis of Franklin County, Va. Letters offer insights into their courtship and early married life. Also included are a few other family papers.
